Based in Boca Raton, Florida, Dashboard Confessional is widely regarded as an indie rock band that have been active since the late 1990s. Currently, Chris Carrabba leads the band as the singer, Scott Schoenbeck plays the bass, AJ Cheek accompanies Chris as the back-up vocals and lead guitar whilst Ben Homola is on the drums. Even though their band members have changed over the past, their music has stayed true to the genre. The band's first recording was 'The Swiss Army Romance in 2000 which was originally a side project of Carrabba's. In 2002, Dashboard Confessional won an award at the MTV Video Music Awards for the first single, 'Screaming Infidelities', on their 2001 album 'The Places You Have Come to fear the Most'. Their third album, 'A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar' reached number two on the U.S. Billboard charts and they toured later in the same year, generating a lot of excitement from their fans. Following their success streak, the band recorded 'Vindicated' to add to the music score of 'Spider-Man 2' which played over the end credits of the movie. Similarly, in 2009, their single 'Finishing School' was contributed to the comedic movie 'Jennifer's Body'. In the following year, the band added to their prosperity through performing as the opening act for the Bon Jovi Circle Tour which inevitably added to their popularity. Less than seven years ago, Dashboard Confessional announced that their first album would be re-released as a vinyl album and the day after this album was distributed, Carrabba went on a solo tour in honor of the tenth anniversary of the band's first album 'Swiss Army Romance'. The band have not released as many albums as they did in the 2000s but are still going on tours to appease their dedicated fans.
